Pre-Cosmetic Surgery Assessment & Support Clinic
Designed to support cosmetic practitioners and their patients to achieve the best outcomes with their procedures
Why do we need a Pre-Cosmetic Surgery Assessment & Support Clinic?

As of July 1st 2023, new guidelines by the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) state that cosmetic practitioners undertaking cosmetic surgeries or procedures will be required to routinely screen and support individuals with psychological vulnerabilities. This includes assessing patients motivations and managing their expectations of the procedure, outcomes and impact upon their lives. A particular focus has been placed on screening for and treating Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).

The Pre-Cosmetic Surgery Assessment & Support Clinic helps cosmetic practitioners to remain compliant with their ethical obligations and support patients through the entire process. Our goal is to work with patients to help them achieve their goals to improve their self-esteem and wellbeing. We do this by increasing their readiness for the procedures and developing skills to cope with challenges.
